Maintenance work on Gonn Crossing Bridge

On display until 26 November 2022, 12:00 AM

Transport for NSW is planning to carry out essential maintenance work to Gonn Crossing Bridge at Murrabit. This work is to repair and replace key components of the lift span to ensure the bridge’s continued safe operation.

The work will be carried out from Monday 24 October to Friday 25 November 2022, weather permitting.

During the project there will be 30-minute intermittent delays accessing Gonn Crossing

Bridge between 7am and 6pm weekdays for five weeks, weather permitting.

How the work affects you

To limit impacts to the community, Gonn Crossing Bridge will remain open during the maintenance work.

For the safety of motorists and workers, 30-minute closures will be required on the single lane bridge to carry out repairs.

These closures will be done during work hours as needed for five weeks, weather permitting.

We will aim to avoid delays during peak traffic times including school bus hours.

The lift span will be out of operation during the project. Oversize river vessels are advised to delay their journeys.

Alternatively, motorists can cross the Murray River at Barham-Koondrook Bridge adding an extra 45 minutes to journeys.

Work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm and is expected to take five weeks to complete, weather permitting.
