Community Grants Program
Twice each year we invite applications for grants from community groups and not-for-profit organisations under Murray River Council’s Community Grants Program. The program offers financial support for various activities which contribute positively to the Murray River Council community, for example projects, new equipment, events, exhibitions or performances.
Local Heritage Fund
Once per year, individuals and groups wishing to undertake heritage projects within Murray River Council are invited to apply for financial assistance under Council’s Local Heritage Fund Program. “Heritage consists of those places and objects that we as a community have inherited from the past and want to hand on to future generations.” (NSW Heritage Office).
Funding can be used for a wide range of projects that deliver good heritage and urban design outcomes that fit within the scope of the guidelines.
Projects funded through a Local Heritage Fund may include (and not be limited to):
• conservation works and maintenance works projects
• adaptive reuse projects
• urban design projects that support heritage
• interpretation projects
• conservation management plans.
A total of approximately $10,500 is available in Murray River Council’s Local Heritage Fund. Generally grants are given for amounts between $1,000 and $5,000.
Youth Week Grants
Once per year we call for suitable local youth services or community organisations and groups to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for funding towards an event, activity or project to be held during National Youth Week (usually held in April). We look for projects that provide an opportunity for young people aged 12-25 to express their ideas, raise issues that are of concern to them or to create and enjoy entertainment. A limited number of grants of up to $750 are generally available. Organisations wishing to apply for funding are required to complete an EOI form and return to council by the due date.
