National Youth Week

Youth Week began as a NSW Government initiative in 1989, and has since grown to be a celebration of young people in every state and territory across the country!

Every April, Murray River Council celebrates National Youth Week, encouraging young residents to get involved and celebrate their contribution to their community.

National Youth Week is an opportunity for young people to:

  • share ideas
  • attend live events
  • have their voices heard on issues of concern to them
  • showcase their talents
  • celebrate their contribution to the community
  • take part in competitions
  • have fun!

Once per year we also call for suitable local youth services or community organisations and groups to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for funding towards an event, activity or project to be held during National Youth Week. Keep an eye on our grants page for more details.

Youth Week 2020 - young people have your say!

Murray River Council’s Youth Engagement Program (YEP) team are looking for expressions of interest from young people interested in planning Youth Week events for 2020.

Youth Week provides a great opportunity for young people to express their ideas and views, act on issues that affect their lives, or simply create and enjoy activities and events!

Youth Week will run from 1-9 April 2020, so if you are keen to get involved, have some great skills or are even wanting to learn some new skills, this is a great opportunity for you!

Only requirement is that you need to be 16-25 years and living in the Murray River Council area.

Expressions of Interest should be submitted via the survey link below before 30 January 2020.

Got some fun ideas for an event but don’t want to get involved? No worries! Follow the link to the survey and add your ideas anyway.
