MRC encourages residents to undertake transactions online or over the phone
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Murray River Council will be undertaking various control measures to play its part in containing the virus.
This will include encouraging the community to undertake as many transactions online or over the phone as possible.
This includes rates and payments, Service NSW enquiries and Licensing services.
General Manager Des Bilske said the situation and information about the virus is changing rapidly, but Council will be doing everything in its power to continue to deliver services whilst still paying close attention to advice and recommendations from health authorities and NSW State Government.
“Coronavirus is a highly transmissible disease and our aim at this time is to limit exposure in our business where practically possible.”
“Whilst we are ensuring our staff are doing their bit to help contain the virus, we are also urging our customers to consider undertaking their council transactions online or over the phone where possible,” he said,
Council have provided a list of online service links on the home page of their website to help customers navigate the process of contactless transactions.
Mr Bilske added that Murray River Council will continue to follow advice from NSW Health and the NSW State Government in regards to Covid-19.
“We thank the community for their understating during this time. We know the virus is spreading and we need to limit this as much as possible, so the burden on our health system is manageable,” he said.
