Mathoura Lawn Cemetery

Corner Bunnaloo Road and Cemetery Road, Mathoura 2710

History

The Mathoura Lawn Cemetery was constructed by the former Murray Shire Council with the first interment taking place in 1984. The Lawn Cemetery consists of a lawn area and a memorial wall to allow the interment of cremated remains into both the lawn and niches where preferred. To date, there has been approximately 250 burial interments and 15 cremated remain interments.

Council is currently in discussions with NSW Crown Lands regarding extending the Lawn Cemetery area to ensure the cemetery has a longer active life and allows for many more interments.
