Moulamein Cemetery

History

The former Wakool Shire Council took over management of the Moulamein Cemetery from the Cemetery Trust with the first interments taking place over a century ago.

The Moulamein Cemetery consists of three religious sections, these being Anglican (also known as Church of England), Uniting (Presbyterian and Methodist) and Roman Catholic, as well as a General Section and a Lawn Cemetery, allowing both burials and cremated remains.

To date, there has been approximately 400 interments, with the oldest dating back to the late 1800s.

Cemetery activities completed by Council

  • Burial and cremated remains interments;
  • Ordering and placement of plaques;
  • Assistance with genealogical records inquiries; and
  • Maintain interment records.

Vehicle access

Vehicle access for burials, monumental masons, visitors and maintenance staff into the cemetery is from Maude Road. This access leads into a graveled area and allows direct access to the burial sections for funeral directors, monumental masons and maintenance staff.

Visitor car parking is provided onsite along with a public toilet.
