Murray River Council, in conjunction with Zenith Town Planning, has prepared the Moama and District Rural Residential Strategy. The Strategy seeks to amend the planning controls of a number of parcels of land surrounding the township of Moama, in order to allow a greater choice of rural residential development within the Murray River Council Local Government Area.
At the Ordinary Council Meeting of Murray River Council held at the Barham Riverside Reception Centre on Tuesday 8 August 2017, Council resolved to adopt the final Moama and District Rural Residential Strategy 2017, and forward the final Moama and District Rural Residential Strategy 2017 to the NSW Department of Planning & Environment seeking endorsement. Council received a response from NSW DPE on 10 November 2017 outlining that at this stage NSW DPE will not be endorsing the adopted Moama and District Rural Residential Strategy 2017. As a result of this, Council staff are working with NSW DPE to progress the strategy. Please see the attached response from NSW DPE for more information.
