Council residents can access library services in Barham, Moulamein, Mathoura and Moama/Echuca.

We also operate a mobile library service which visits schools and communities in Murray Downs, Tooleybuc and Wakool on a fortnightly basis.

You can find location and operating details on these local library services below.

We link into the Swan Hill Regional Library network

Murray River Council is a member of the Swan Hill Regional Library network. This network offers an extensive catalogue of books and services free of charge to its members.

Library members have 24/7 access to the library catalogue and can also review and renew their loans and reserve resources online through the Swan Hill Regional Library website.

Murray River Council Mobile Library

Did you know we  have our own mobile library and service centre?

Council was awarded funding under the 2019/2020 Public Library Infrastructure Program to invest in a mobile library truck, which offers access to services for residents in our remote communities.

The mobile library offers:
  • Library services
  • Access to council services and information; such as paying accounts (no cash), forms or items on display
  • Access to online government portals
  • Community information.
The mobile library will be visiting the communities of Murray Downs, Wakool and Tooleybuc on a fortnightly basis. And we will be announcing our first dates very soon!
