Mathoura Lawn Cemetery

The Mathoura Lawn Cemetery was constructed by the former Murray Shire Council with the first interment taking place in 1984. The Lawn Cemetery consists of a lawn area and a memorial wall to allow the interment of cremated remains into both the lawn and niches where preferred.

Council is currently in discussions with NSW Crown Lands regarding extending the Lawn Cemetery area to ensure the cemetery has a longer active life and allows for many more interments.

Cemetery activities undertaken by Council

  • Burial and cremated remains interments
  • Ordering and placement of plaques
  • Assistance with genealogical records inquiries
  • Maintain interment records.

Vehicle access information

Vehicle access for burials, monumental masons, visitors and maintenance staff into the cemetery is from Cemetery Road. This access leads into the public carpark and allows direct access to the burial sections for funeral directors, monumental masons and maintenance staff.
