Administration Officer – Development Services

About the opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Administration Officer to provide high-level administrative support to our Development Services Team. The successful candidate will deliver efficient and flexible customer service, ensuring adherence to Council policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary administrative support to the Development Services Department.
  • Offer information to the public and developers regarding legislative processes.
  • Process various certificates and determinations in accordance with procedures and legislation.
  • Liaise with technical staff on applications, inspections, and objections.
  • Coordinate inspection scheduling and the ‘Duty Planner’ roster.
  • Deliver excellent telephone and customer service.
  • Prepare and submit reports as directed.
  • Maintain and update the Planning and Environment Department's web content.

What we're looking for

  • Proven administrative experience, ideally in a local government or similar environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service

The successful candidate will also require:

  • Certificate II in administration
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an administrative setting
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • National Police Check.
