Council has resolved to reallocate funds earmarked for the next round of its community grants program to a new covid support grant program.

Following a range of requests for financial support from local community groups hit hard by COVID restrictions, Council resolved that the $30,000 may best be used to support local groups to get back on their feet.

“Community groups can be just as important as viable local businesses, and we recognise that we have some organisation out there that may benefit from support through this revised grant program,” Mayor Chris Bilkey said.

More details on the application-based covid support grant program will be available in the coming month.
