Community Grants Program allocations
Published on 24 October 2023
Murray River Council has awarded $30,376 in community grants to help support a wide range of community projects.
Community groups and not-for-profit organisations were able to apply for up to $3,000 for projects or events under round tone of the 23/24 Community Grants Program, which closed on 15 September.
Murray River Council mayor, Frank Crawley said the grant program is a great way to support local projects and committees.
“Our Community Grants Program assists community organisations to deliver initiatives that benefit the broader community.”
"It’s also a great avenue to further develop partnerships between community organisations and Council, so we’re once again pleased to back some exciting community projects."
31 applications were received by council under the funding round.
“Council received $84,404 worth of project applications from the community, which really does highlight the amazing things going on in our towns,” Cr Crawley said.
“There were many worthy projects submitted for consideration, however the final funded projects are spread throughout the Council area and represent the diverse needs of our residents.”
