Flood-affected waste collection
Published on 09 December 2022
Murray River Council residents can now access free kerbside flood-affected waste collection.
To access the collection service, residents and residential property owners can register their details online.
Once approved, residents will be required to place the waste on their nature strip into separate piles such as white goods, electronics, mattresses, batteries, hot water systems and anything with a battery or cord, and general waste (carpet or household waste).
Contractors will collect all flood-affected waste.
Anything that the contractors deem as being not flood affected will be left on the properties’ nature strips.
Anyone who is wanting their sandbags to be collected or disposed of must also complete a registration form.
Flood affected waste is determined as items which have been directly impacted by or submerged in flood waters during the Sept - Dec 2022 NSW flood event and have been identified as part of the Rapid Damage Assessment Process.
The waste collections will only take place once properties are able to be safely accessed.
