Murray River Council has been successful in obtaining $400,000 of funding under Round 4 of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund to install a new female toilet black at Moama’s Jack Eddy Oval.
Located with the recreation reserve, the oval will soon see the inclusion of brand new female change rooms, toilets and showers.
Murray River Council mayor, Chris Bilkey welcomed the funding support.
“Our local recreation reserves are the heart of community sport in our towns, so all these improvements go a long way to increasing participation in local activities.”
“The inclusion of the female amenities on the site is long overdue, so we are so pleased that we can now deliver another important addition to our ever-growing reserve area.”
Jack Eddy Oval is used by several local sporting groups including soccer, athletics and AFL.
Upgrades are expected to be completed in the coming months.
