Meninya St designs: Don’t miss out on having your say

With just over a week left to have your say on the draft designs for the development of the Meninya Street Precinct, Murray River Council is encouraging people to jump online and take a look.

And if online is not your thing, you can also view the concepts in person at the Moama Market this weekend.

Project Manager Matt Sherman will be at the market on Sunday to show people through the plans and take on any feedback.

“Focusing on increasing pedestrian activity and economic development within Moama, the project aims to improve safety, accessibility and visual appearance of the streetscape.”

“But if something needs more consideration for future development of the precinct, now is the time to work these things out.”

“We really do want to hear from as many people as possible as it’s important the needs of interested businesses and community members are captured in the design phase,” he said.

The Meninya Street Precinct Project is one of Murray River Council’s largest projects that aims to transform the heart of Moama into a vibrant precinct of social and economic activity.

It will be a multi-year project to be delivered as funding opportunities arise.

“With the new bridge in operation, we now have the opportunity to develop this stretch of Moama into more than just a transport thoroughfare,” Matt said

“Strategically investing in infrastructure, parks and open spaces, we want to reshape the area into an innovative precinct of day and night activity.” 

“Our concept designs showcase how we want to achieve this by highlighting enhancements to the streetscape and Kerrabee Soundshell Precinct, so I would encourage people to take a look.” 

Concept designs are currently on display via council’s Your Say platform (yoursay.murrayriver.nsw.gov.au) or you can see Matt at the Moama Market this Sunday 14 August from 8:30 – 11:00am.

Feedback and comments provided by the public will be reviewed by the project team to identify any required changes or amendments to future designs.
