Public buildings survey - tell us what you think
Published on 24 February 2022
Murray River Council residents will see a number of signs scattered around public buildings, as council launches a new survey to gauge usage and satisfaction levels.
This is on the back of the recent survey run during December and early January to gauge usage levels of local parks and spaces, where similar signs were erected across the council.
The parks and open spaces survey attracted over 700 responses from locals and visitors who scanned the signs to let council know what they loved about the space they were using or suggested improvements.
Mayor Chris Bilkey thanked the community for taking the time to offer feedback.
“Council manages hundreds of open spaces and buildings on behalf of the community, so the feedback given from users is vital as we undertake an assets review to plan for future management”
“The number of responses to our recent open spaces survey was amazing and we really do thank the community for giving us their honest feedback.”
The survey had specific questions around usage levels and activities, with many respondents using the spaces on a weekly basis with natural amenity, trees and seating being a big drawcard for many.
Many respondents also took the time to offer suggestions or feedback in the open comments section.
“Every bit of information submitted to us gets reviewed and input into the final report to help guide our maintenance and planning priorities,” Cr Bilkey said.
“I now encourage everyone to scan the new signs that will be in place at many of our public buildings so that we can get a good understanding of how they are used and how often they are used.”
“We want to get some accurate feedback and data, so please, if you are in a building and see our QR code sign, scan it and let us know!”
QR code signs will link users to a quick survey to help council understand how much the space is used and any improvements needed.
