Australia Day Ambassador, Brad Farmer AM
Known nationally as Australia’s official Beach Ambassador, Mr. Farmer has dedicated more than 40 years to protecting and promoting the environmental, cultural and social value of Australia’s beaches and waterways.
He comes from a seventh-generation Australian family who carved out a living from sheep stations across outback QLD and NSW, with his passion beginning at age 12 when he launched his very first beach campaign on the Gold Coast. This passion has since seen him found major not-for-profit initiatives including Coastcare, National and World Surfing Reserves, Surfrider Foundation Australia and Ocean Care Day.
Mr. Farmer was awarded Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2019 for his distinguished service to conservation, community and the environment. He is also a best-selling author and researcher who has studied Australian beaches for almost four decades and personally visited thousands of coastal and inland beach locations.
