The view from here: What 300 residents told us about council, our services and what they’d like to see in the future.
Our 2026 Community Satisfaction Survey has given us valuable insight into what residents think about Council services, what’s working well and where there is room for improvement.
- 49% of residents were satisfied with Council’s overall performance, compared with 16% who were dissatisfied.
- Waste services and public amenities were among the strongest-performing areas, with high satisfaction for kerbside collection, bin sizes, parks and reserves, cemeteries, green waste and recycling.
- Roads and development processes were among the areas residents told us need the most attention.
Looking ahead, local roads and transport infrastructure were clearly identified as the community’s highest priority, followed by healthcare and aged care, economic development, water security and housing.
The survey was completed by a representative sample of 300 randomly selected residents across the Murray River Council area.
