Bridge closures on Kyalite Bridge: 20 September - 19 November

No longer on display. Expired on 19 November 2021, 12:00 PM

Transport for NSW will be carrying out repair work to Kyalite Bridge’s joints and abutment, upgrading the current bridge guardrail and other essential maintenance work. During this time, traffic will be reduced to a single lane with additional intermittent 20-minute bridge closures as required.

Work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm weekdays from Monday 20 September and is expected to be completed on Friday 19 November, weather permitting. The bridge will be closed for up to 20 minutes during various stages of the work. To limit impacts on the community, these will occur as required between 10am and 2pm, removing the need for a long detour and full bridge closure while the work is carried out.

How will the work affect you?

The 20-minute bridge closures will be carried out to safely set up access to carry out joint replacement, rehabilitation of the bridge abutment, resurfacing the bridge deck and other bridge maintenance work. These delays will ensure traffic can continue to access the bridge, removing the need for a long detour and closure of the bridge.

This work will take two months to complete, weather permitting. There may be further delays and closures as the work continues. We will continue to inform motorists and the community through electronic signage.
