Wakool – Chester Street Barham intersection upgrade

Residents and motorists are advised of ongoing works at the intersection of Wakool and Chester Streets Barham, from Monday 18 November until the end of December 2024.  

The works will deliver a more clearly defined intersection and improvements to the stormwater drainage in the immediate area.

What to expect:

• There will be some interruptions to traffic flow during the construction phase, with diversions in place.
• One lane will be always closed during pavement construction. Both directions will be affected throughout different stages of the project.
• Diversion route:  Access Frank St via Nicolls St. Frank via Wakool St may have delays.
• There may be times when driveways within the works area become temporarily inaccessible, so residents within the construction zone are encouraged to park their vehicles outside the immediate works area during this period. Households in the immediate works area will have been notified of the works via letter drop.
• Residents adjacent to the construction area, are advised to be aware of additional cars parked in the streets and additional traffic movements during the works period.
