Niemur/Murray Street Barham, Intersection Upgrade Works

Council is completing upgrade and renewal works at the corners of Niemur and Murray Streets, Barham.

The project will upgrade ageing infrastructure and improve pedestrian safety and accessibility at the intersections.

What to expect during the project: 

• Intermittent traffic management may be in place

• Works will be completed in sections to minimise disruption

• Residents will be contacted directly if driveway access is impacted

 

Part road closures: 2-6 March, 2026

 Works will be carried out along Murray Street and Niemur Street from Monday 2 March to Friday 6 March, 2026. During this period, sections of the road will be closed at various times. Detours will direct traffic via Wakool Street.

Access to cluBarham will remain available via Noorong Street.

Schedule of Impacts:

Monday 2 March 2026

  • Road closed for most of the day.
  • Expected to reopen late afternoon.
  • Caution: An 80 mm drop will remain where the road surface is being replaced.

Tuesday 3 March 2026

  • Road open to traffic.
  • Drive with care due to an 80 mm drop in the road surface where sealing works are underway.

Wednesday 4 March 2026

  • Road closed.

Thursday 5 March 2026

  • Road closed.

Friday 6 March 2026

  • Road closed, with reopening planned for the afternoon.
