Hire a Sporting Venue
Murray River Council manages a range of sporting facilities that can be used for competitions, tournaments, fundraisers and community events.
These venues support both regular sporting use and one-off events, subject to availability and approvals.
Available sporting facilities
Facilities may include:
- Ovals and playing fields
- Netball, tennis and basketball courts
- Clubrooms and amenities
- Multi-use sporting precincts
Availability may depend on seasonal use, existing club allocations and maintenance schedules.

Regular user groups
Are you a regular user? If you regularly use a council sporting venue for group or club recreation and sporting activities, you can book an oval or facility via the Online Booking Calendar. Please note this is for regular users of Moama and Barham Recreation Reserves only.

For new groups or clubs seeking regular use, please contact the Parks & Open Spaces team on admin@murrayriver.nsw.gov.au
Prior to commencement of use, clubs must provide Council with a signed agreement detailing the agreed use.
Planning a sporting event
Are you looking to host a sporting event in the Murray River Council region?
All sporting events that invite the general public to attend, whether ticketed or free, are required to obtain Council approval.
To apply and book a Council facility, please complete the Venue and Event Application Form and provide all supporting documentation required.
