Community Grants awarded across the area

Murray River Council has awarded $34,000 in community grants to help support a wide range of community projects.
Community groups and not-for-profit organisations were able to apply for up to $3,000 for projects or events under round one of the 24/25 Community Grants Program, which closed on 1 October.
Murray River Council mayor, John Harvie said the grant program is a great way to support local projects and committees.
“Our Community Grants Program assists community organisations to deliver initiatives that benefit the broader community.”
"It’s also a great avenue to further develop partnerships between community organisations and Council, so we’re once again pleased to back some exciting community projects."
30 applications were received by council under the funding round.
“Council received $78,000 worth of project applications from the community, which really does highlight the amazing things going on right across our region,” Cr Harvie said.
“There were many worthy projects submitted for consideration, however the final funded projects are spread throughout the Council area and represent the diverse needs of our residents.”
