Murray River Council is inviting local businesses to contribute to the development of a new Economic Development and Tourism Strategy.

In developing the strategy, Council is calling on local businesses to provide their input on the current business conditions, competitiveness of the region, and the role that Council should play in promoting economic development and tourism.

This input will also inform the creation of an action list that will drive Council’s tourism and economic development activities over the coming years.

Murray River Council mayor, Chris Bilkey emphasised the importance of local business input in shaping the new Strategy.

“This is a critical opportunity for local businesses to contribute to the future of the region.”

“We want to end up with a plan that to identifies opportunities and potential projects that will support continued economic growth, foster local employment opportunities and position Murray River Council as a leader in tourism.”

“We encourage all businesses to complete the survey and share their experience and perspectives.”

The survey is expected to take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will play a crucial role in shaping the new strategy.

Those who complete the survey will also go into the draw to win a selection of prizes from various local businesses.

The survey can be accessed via Council’s Your Say platform – yoursay.murrayriver.nsw.gov.au - and will close on Wednesday 24 May 2023.
