Moama is set to host the Australia Darts Open, Pacific Masters Tournament and the Australian Darts Championships in August 2022, where players from around the country and overseas will compete for these coveted titles.

Coordinated by Murray River Council in partnership with Darts Australia, the tournaments will see men’s and ladies’ players returning to Moama to compete in singles, doubles and team events.

Held at the Moama Bowling Club, the Australian Darts Open will run from 1-6 August 2022.

The Pacific Masters and the Australian Championships will run from 7 – 13 August at Rich River Golf Club.

With the events being cancelled over the last two years due to the pandemic, the 2022 program is welcome news to the darts community and to Murray River Council who secured the tournaments for a three-year period.

Council’s Director Community and Economic Development, John Harvie said the event will be a welcome boost to the local economy.

“We were privileged to host the best darts players from around Australia, Europe and Japan in 2019, so we are looking forward to welcoming them back again next year.”

“We have world-class facilities right on our doorstep, so it’s great to see national events like this back in our region,” he said.

Returning as a World Darts Federation Ranked tournament, locals are encouraged to mark their diaries so they can witness some of the best players in the country back in action.

“The two weeks of events next year will be as exciting as ever with players eager to compete for the titles once again,” Mr Harvie said.
