Changed traffic conditions on Gonn Crossing Bridge, Murrabit

No longer on display. Expired on 24 March 2023, 12:00 PM

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions during February and March on Murrabit Road and Gonn Avenue at Gonn Crossing Bridge, while essential maintenance work is carried out.

Work will involve repairing the Gonn Crossing Bridge lift span mechanism to ensure the crossing remains safe for motorists and continues to provide passage for large vessels operating along the Murray River.

Work will be carried out on weekdays between weekdays 7am and 6pm from Tuesday 7 February until Friday 24 March, weather permitting.

There will be intermittent 30-minute delays crossing the bridge during work hours. Transport for NSW will aim to avoid delays during peak traffic times including school bus hours.

Motorists can take an alternative route via Barham-Koondrook Bridge, adding up to 45 minutes to journeys.

During the project, the lift span will be out of operation for six weeks with larger marine vessels advised to postpone their journeys.

Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 30 km/h during work hours, and 60 km/h outside of hours, will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
