Council will be commencing construction works along Kyalite Road from 17 March 2025. The works will then be ongoing for approximately 2-years.
The project will involve upgrades to 11.5km of road pavement, improvements to drainage, installation of a safety barrier over Forest Creek, and other general safety improvements.
The works aim to enhance the quality of the road surface and shoulders, improving safety and driving conditions for all users.
What you need to know:
- Location: Between Arundel Road and the Balranald Shire Council border (approx. 2.5km east of Kyalite).
- Staging: The project will be completed in six stages, with each stage covering approximately 2km.
- Stage One Start Date: 17 March 2025 (commencing at Arundel Road)
- Traffic Impacts: The road will remain operational with one lane open during each construction phase, however motorists should expect delays of 5-10 minutes.

The works are funded via the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Roads program.
