Swimming Pool compliance certificate

Your swimming pool or spa must have a certificate of compliance prior to use. This certificate confirms that your pool meets pool safety legal requirements and approval consent of Council. A certificate of compliance is valid for three years from its date of issue.

The application process requires an online application followed by an inspection from one of our officers.

Things to consider:

When submitting your application, it’s handy to know the following:

  • Year of installation
  • Description of your pool barrier (i.e 4 sided fence)
  • And location of your pool in relation to your property
  • There will be a fee associated with the application for officers to undertake the inspection

Is yours a business pool or spa?

In accordance with the Public Health Act 2010 and Public Health Regulation 2022, business owners must notify council of their public swimming pool or spa pool prior to operating. Public swimming pools and spa pools include those where the public is admitted, for example at a club, gym, school, hospital, hotel, motel, guest house, day spa, holiday camps or where a private pool is used to provide public swimming lessons.

Businesses should notify using this same application.
