Advertising and signage application

If you're looking to apply for outdoor advertising or signage, you may be required to submit a Development Application.

Filming and photography

To film or photograph on land owned or managed by Murray River Council for commercial reasons, you will need to get permission by lodging an application.

Fireworks display notification

Use this application to notify council of your proposed fireworks display.

Fixed food business permit

Any business that handles food must be registered with Council. Fixed food businesses are located at a permanent building (not mobile or temporary).

Grazing stock on council roads

Any person wishing to graze stock on council-controlled roads must submit an application to receive the appropriate permit.

Liquid trade waste application

Liquid trade waste (LTW) describes all liquid waste other than sewerage discharged to the sewer, including but not limited to:

  • commercial premises such as beauticians, hairdresser, florist, hotel, motel, restaurant, butcher, petrol/service station, supermarket, dentist
  • public or community premises such as school, college, hospital, nursing home, TAFE college
  • industrial premises
  • trade activities such as mobile carpet cleaner
  • any commercial operations carried out at residential premises
  • saleyards, racecourses, kennels and stables

Any business discharging trade waste to sewer, either directly or indirectly (tankered) must have Council approval to do so.

Mobile food business permit

Any business that handles food must be registered with Council. Mobile food permits cover things like food vans that don't operate out of a permanent building.

Get permission to use the footpath outside your premises to serve food and drink to patrons.

Planning Certificates: 10.7

A Section 10.7 Planning Certificate provides you with information about the development potential of a parcel of land. They are usually required upon the sale or purchase of a property.

Rating certificate (603 certificate)

A Section 603 (rates) certificate is commonly needed when you are selling a property.

Any closure and sale of public road must be approved by the Council.

Road opening permit

A Road Opening Permit approval is usually sought for the purpose of construction (or associated works) along a road, or roads reserve, that is within Council’s jurisdiction.

Individuals can apply for a Land Classification Certificate for a single property, or a Land Register Extract for multiple properties.

A special meter read is a meter reading taken outside of the usual reading cycle.

Street stall permit

Street stalls are used by community and not-for-profit organisations for the selling of goods and services in a public place, like cake stalls or raffle tickets.

Your swimming pool or spa must have a certificate of compliance prior to use.

Temporary food business permit

Any business that handles food must be registered with Council.

The ‘Temporary Food Business Permit’ applies to food being sold from a temporary structure (like a stall or stand) for a limited or periodic time at an approved event.
