Informal access requests

If you are seeking information from Murray River Council, which is not published on our website, or looking for your personal information kept in Council's records, you can make an informal application to access that information.

We aim to respond to requests as soon as possible, however response times will vary depending on the current levels of demand on our services and the type of information requested.

Making an informal request application

An application must be made on the Informal Request Application form, or alternately can be submitted in writing but must:

  • clearly indicate it is an informal request application made under the GIPA Act;
  • state your postal address in Australia; and
  • provide a phone number and email details
  • provide sufficient detail to enable the Right to Information Officer to identify the requested information.
Submitting an informal request application

Complete the form and do one of the following:

  • post to our Right to Information Officer,
  • email to the attention of our Right to Information Officer OR
  • lodge in person at one of our offices.

 

Fees and charges

There is no application fee for an informal request for information, however, photocopying charges may apply.
