Draft 2026-27 Budget, Fees & Charges on exhibition

Council is inviting the community to review and provide feedback on its draft 2026-27 Operational Plan, consisting of the draft Revenue Policy, draft Fees and Charges and the draft 2026-27 Budget. The draft Operational Plan outlines the projects, services and initiatives Council proposes to deliver in the next financial year, including a $30.73 million capital works program.

Bridge lift notifications

On display until 31 December 2026

View the times and dates of any planned bridge lifts in the Murray River Council area. This includes the Barham, Nyah, Murrabit, Tooleybuc and Swan Hill Bridges.

2026-27 Draft Budget on display

On display until 29 May 2026

Council is inviting the community to review the draft 2026-27 Operational Plan and Budget, which includes a $30.73 million capital works program.

Temporary lane changes and speed limit reduction along Gonn Road

On display until 30 June 2026

Traffic changes will be in place along Gonn Road while work is underway to replace the Little Barbers Creek offtake regulator, starting in late September 2025 through to June 2026.

Kyalite Road Rehabilitation

Council is completing $5,697,485 worth of major construction works along Kyalite Road, aimed at improving road safety and usability.

Mathoura Rec Reserve Playground Upgrades

Council recently completed an upgrade of the Mathoura Recreation Reserve Playground, delivering a modern and inclusive play space for the community.

Irrigation upgrade: Cook Street Road Reserve, Wakool

Council is undertaking irrigation upgrade works along the Cook Street Road Reserve in Wakool.

School Mural Project
